Los Angeles- Charlton Heston, who won oscars portraying characters such as Moses, Michelangelo, and other famous personalities died Saturday night at his home in Beverly Hills with his firearm Lucille clutched in his hands.
Heston, a fervent spokesman and former president of the National Rifle Association, an influential gun lobbyist body once declared that, if somebody wanted his gun they would have to get it…”From my cold dead hands!”
Apparently Heston’s remains weren’t discovered until an advance d state of rigor mortis had already set in with his favorite firearm in hand. The Colt 45 Peacemaker needed to be pried from Heston as it will go into a safety deposit box for the Heston estate. It took two orderlies and and a gated community security guard to get the gun from his cold dead hands before the body could be transferred to hospital. “That planet of the apes dude just didn’t want to let go… we was thinking we needed jaws of life or some mess.” said orderly Bradley Thompson, the closer of the two orderlies caring for Heston in his old age. Heston is survived by his wife and a bunch of other people in Hollywood that like guns too.
